It’s more than a hashtag

Effective communication still takes careful thought and execution, even in this era of blurb, bullet point and hashtag.

By all means, be facile with the hashtag, the emoji and all of the other clever little helps and tricks that are out there. But if you don’t research, strategize, plot and plan your communication, you’ll fail at best and fall flat on your face at worst.

A good recent example is the New York Police Department’s attempt to mount an anti-encryption campaign by just coming up with a hashtag. Read more here.
